How Long Does a Newborn photo Shoot Take? | Houston, TEXAS - NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER

How long will our session take?  This is such a great question to help prepare you and your family for a successful session. My sessions usually last 4-5 hours. Please consider the time that it takes me to transform your home into a temporary photography studio and time to comfort, change and feed your baby. My sessions usually start at 10am which gives me ample time to unload and set up for our newborn shoot. I find this is such a sweet spot for these precious babies as well. Newborn sessions are marathons and need attention to detail. It’s a waiting game for your baby and he or she is the star of our show. We wait, we cuddle, we feed, we wait some more until your baby is feeling secure and comfortable to relax and enjoy their session. There’s no rush and we go at the pace of your baby to produce high-quality images with printing heirloom products in mind.

Knowing how long to expect me to be in your home is helpful to know how long to mentally prepare before you can relax again. It helps spouses to plan their day as well. Having your newborn session in your home is such an advantage because of the amount of time it takes to create precious artwork of your baby. Most clients lounge in their comfortable clothes or fix a meal at some point during our session.  This is the best part!  You don’t have to go anywhere!

It’s a good idea to book your newborn session without any time constraints. If you have any appointments or visitors coming let’s work together to choose a time that helps us to focus on your family’s dynamic so that we can tell a compelling story through your high quality portraits without worrying about time. Don’t worry about your spouse or older siblings not being able to attend the entire session. It’s easy to save family portraits for the end of the session or have them at the very beginning to get anyone out the door if need be.  We can find a time that works best for everyone!
