Hey there, lovely parents and future parents! I’m a Pearland, Texas and Houston area maternity and newborn photographer. All of my newborn sessions are in-home which means you never have to leave or take your baby out of your home to acquire beautiful and timeless newborn portraits. Today, I want to pull back the curtain and share a bit about what goes into creating those adorable newborn photos you cherish forever. As a newborn photographer, I believe in capturing the essence of each precious little one, and let me tell you, it’s a beautiful journey every time!

First things first, let’s talk about the stars of the show: the babies! Each newborn is wonderfully unique, with their own personality and preferences right from the start. Some babies love to snooze peacefully through their entire session, while others might be a bit more adventurous, wanting to see what’s going on around them. And you know what? That’s perfectly okay!

When I work with a newborn, my priority is always their comfort and safety. I create a cozy, warm environment to help them feel secure, whether they’re dozing off or wide-eyed and curious. But here’s the thing – not every baby is going to be thrilled about every pose, and that’s completely normal! Just like adults, babies have their own comfort zones, and I respect that wholeheartedly.

Sometimes that means adjusting our plans on the fly, and that’s all part of the magic!
