Large family sessions are so ridiculously fun to photograph! I love capturing the dynamics and connections between each of the family member. They are all different and uniquely beautiful in every way.  

Blended families are near and dear to my heart. I grew up in a divorced and blended family. My dad remarried and had a baby when I was 17 years old and then had another baby when I was 20 years old. Those babies grew up to be my gorgeously successful, younger sisters. My family history allows me to understand gaps in age, dynamic relationships between each member, and sometimes the awkwardness that can be present.

Our our children grow so fast, and it’s only that when they’ve grown that you realize how small they were in the stages past. One of my favorite things to photograph is the size of children’s hands inside their parents. Boys hands in their mom’s hands are especially my favorite. When they are young, their hands fit perfectly inside of ours, but they’ll be a day when their hands have grown, and they no longer hold our hand, but we will be holding theirs. There once tiny hands fits so perfectly inside hours will be too big, and our hands will fit inside theirs. There’s nothing more beautiful than photographing their hands inside yours while they are still small. So anytime I photograph of mother and son, I always photograph their hands. 

I make it a goal to focus on each family member with various combinations in the most natural way possible. This family did not disappoint. You can see the love that they have for each other and how much joy and laughter is a part of their family dynamic.

This family was so much fun to photograph! Everyone was so relaxed, and just there to just relax and play together! They were troopers as we walked down to this spectacular location. They were there for the journey and were so gracious of the moments we captured! If you think you’re seeing double with these little girls, you are! They are dear friends of ours and couldn’t be more identical and more DIFFERENT in every way! As a twin mama, I love photographing twins! It’s definitely an added challenge, especially with toddlers but I’m up for it! I fall in love all over again every time I edit the images and then again when I post them. It’s such a rewarding experience. One of my favorite parts is when my clients see their pictures for the first time and the best art is seeing the entire process come together when I deliver beautiful, printed art to their home!
